10 Rare and Beautiful Albino Animals

TreeHugger writer Sara Novak came face-to-face with an albino alligator at the South Carolina Aquarium in 2010. In her piece about the pigment-less gators, she highlights one of the main contradictions in the albino gator's life: The sun in the warm climates where gators thrive poses a danger to the albino's delicate skin that makes them unlikely to survive in the wild.
